The Hat Art, which is followed up with appreciation by all the population in the Islamic Community, is watched with great interest by everyone who performs this art or not. The masters performing the Calligraphy depict the reflection of their souls in their works. They bring together the beauty, feelings and thoughts that come from inside the pen and paper.

At the time of the Abbasids, Ibn Muklenin, a vizier and calligrapher from Baghdad, developed a system to determine the main lines and measures of the writings and innovations he added to the line, and played an important role in the development of this art. In this period, Hat Art was diversified under the name of Sülüs, Nesih, Muhakkak, Reyhanî, Tevki and Rika. All of these writing types are called Aklam-i Sitte. This article was further developed and spreaded 100 years later with the contributions of the Arab-born Hat master Ali Bin Hilan. Hat Art, which continues to develop during the time of the Abbasids, has begun to develop even further as the Ottoman State takes its place on the historical stage. Ottoman and Persian calligraphy masters have begun to develop this art every day and spread to wider masses. During the Ottoman period Hat Sanat reached its brightest period in the time of Sheikh Hamdullah. Aklam-ı Sitteye incredibly added beauty and maturity, and this art also tried to spread the popular among the population, and it spread quickly because it succeeded and began to appeal to very large mass. Sheikh Hamdullahtan later, in 1650, Hafız Osman has added a distinctive beauty to Hat Art by his own style.

In 1800, İsmail Zühdü and his brother Mustafa Altım created a new dimension to Calligraphy by creating their own style and writing types. Another master who grew up in this art was Sami Efendi. Other great calligraphers who have contributed to this art throughout the history and which have contributed innovations are some of them Ahmet Karahisari, Mahmut Celalettin Efendi and Yesarizade Mustafa İzzet Efendi. Throughout history, Istanbul has taken its place as the most important center of calligraphy. In fact, a very beautiful sentence is used for Istanbul and Hat Art.
