Rio de Janeiro is an extremely disturbing portrait of the life in the slum areas and the drug trade, which lasted from the 1960s to the 1980s, covering the world of gangsters, gang wars, and more than three years ago, was meticulously reflected in the eyes of a young photographer named Rocket. Rocket finds himself constantly in the midst of events, even though he does not want to be part of himself.

Director Fernando Meirelles, Kátia Lund Filmin has several main characters introduced during the work; but the development of each of them is genius.

The City of God's City of God (based on a true story) is a brutal, violent, shocking and downright brutal cinema that leaves the audience breathless from the start, with an extremely impressive combination of brutal storytelling, explosive tempo and aggressive filmmaking.

Certainly one of the greatest movies of world cinema, and certainly one of the best films out of Brazil, this type of masterpiece is a must for film lovers and it is definitely recommended.
